NSSF Survey Shows Growing Approval of AR15 Use for Hunting

The latest National Shooting Sports Foundation “Survey Tracker” results show a growing approval of AR15 rifle use for hunting.  The survey shows that the percentage of those surveyed, who approve in the use of the MSR (AR15) platform for hunting went up 6.2% in 5 years.  Although this is great news for the expansion of approval, the report does show that the actual use of the AR15 platform for hunting has gone down 6% in the same time.  Lastly, ownership of the AR15 skyrocketed 29% in the same time.  Our belief here at AR15 Hunter is that education is key to showing many who target shoot with their AR15 rifles that using the same rifle for hunting is a natural progression.  However, even today, there are still states that do not allow full hunting access with the AR15 platform.  We feel that, with time, the evolution of AR15 ownership will have a major affect on changing laws in those states.  As we have seen recently with laws allowing suppressors for hunting, we feel that the AR15 will be embraced in due time.
